X-ray photography, performed by archaeological conservator Inger Nyström Godfrey, SVK (Studio Västsvensk Konservering), Gothenburg. It reveals no trace of any underlying painting and, among other things, that the number of leaves in the laurel wreath on Domitian’s head do not match what can be seen on the painting. Leaves have been added later. It shows evidence of pentimenti in the painting. High resolution DICOM images are available upon request.
